We have a fun opportunity for any interested CERTs to be part of a large scale emergency exercise in Urban Shield! This year is the first year this regional emergency response training will have its own CERT drill, GREEN COMMAND.

On Saturday, Sept. 9th from 9:00- 5:00 pm CERTs will participate in 4 time-based state-of-the-art training scenarios (each lasting 2 hours) with one proctor. All teams will be rewarded, however three teams with the highest cumulative score will receive a special recognition at the awards banquet.

Scenarios will be based on simulated responses to natural disasters and other emergencies requiring activation.The exercise will test CERT's knowledge of their training including:

* Basic FEMA CERT training
* ICS
* Light search and rescue
* Documenting damage
* Caring for the sick/injured
* Crowd control and lost individuals
* Assisting individuals with special needs
